Naqeebullah murder case: Suspended DSP sent to jail on judicial remand

KARACHI: The anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday ordered judicial remand of suspended DSP Qamar Ahmed Sheikh in Naqeebullah Mehsud encounter case.
The accused was presented before the administrative judge of ATC in Sindh High Court, where the court ordered to send him to jail on judicial remand.
Sheikh, who accompanied former SSP Rao Anwar during Naqeebullah’s encounter as revealed by a video footage, is among nine others arrested in murder case of the 27-year-old.
Rao Anwar, who spearheaded the alleged encounter of the slain, however remains at large.
Naqeebullah Mehsud, a 27-year-old South Waziristan native, was gunned down in an alleged encounter on January 13 in Shah Latif town.
