SINGAPORE: Divers dressed themselves up in typical costumes to hold the underwater dragon dance alongside some 40,000 marine neighbours including zebra sharks and mantra rays. The show is part of the Chinese New Year celebrations and will run till 28th February.
Every year the performers put on a show with a new storyline and characters, and make up a significant part of the World Sentosa S.E.A Aquarium’s celebrations.
This year the show will depict a sea goddess guiding an underwater dragon through different marine habitats. The performance is one of the main traditional performance aimed at welcoming the Chinese New Year of the Dog. An exhibition of sharks is also underway at the aquarium in collaboration with James Cook University that is renowned for shark research. The exhibition is open from 10 am to 7 pm daily.
