Women empowerment is the process by which women gain power and control over their own lives and acquire the ability to make strategic choices. Women empowerment is the complex hard process of ‘Empowering women’.
Empowerment can be defined in many ways. However, when talking about women’s empowerment means accepting and allowing women in decision -making process. This puts a strong emphasis on our society. Women are empowered when they can access opportunities available to them without limitations and restrictions such as education, profession, and lifestyle. Having a feeling entitled to make your own decisions create a sense of empowerment in women. This also includes the action of raising the status of women through education, raising awareness, literacy, and training. Women empowerment is all about equipping and allowing women to make life-determining decisions through the different problems in our society.
Empowerment of women is a necessity for the very development of a society since it enhances both quality and quantity, and the number of human resources available for development. Empowerment is one of the main concerns when addressing human rights and development. Women empowerment and achieving gender equality is essential for our society to ensure the sustainable development of society. Women development and empowerment must include more choices for women. Therefore, this has been recognizing that women’s empowerment plays a huge role in the development and one of the significant contributions of development. Without the equal inclusion of women in development, women would not able to benefits or contribute to the development of society.
At the end, I would like to encourage all women by saying
‘Staying silent is like slow-growing cancer to the soul and a trait of a true coward. There is nothing intelligent about not standing up for yourself. You may not win every battle. However, everyone will at least know what you stand for’
