March 2019 is being celebrated all over Canada as Pharmacists Awareness month, to enlighten the importance of pharmacist to the general public and to increase the awareness of what Pharmacists can do more than dealing with your medicines. The management of Quality Care Pharmacy, Mississauga had taken this great initiative to celebrate PAM2019 and arranged a successful program in a very short time (3 days). In the event celebrated on Saturday, March 16 at QCP’s Newin centre location, the team and staff members had facilitated the public in providing knowledge about nutrition programs, calorie restricted and balanced diet, how to keep an easy and up to date track record of your’s and your family’s vaccinations, prevention and management of diabetes complications, how to keep safe seniors from fall at home, how to calculate diabetes risk, how to quit smoking and overcome the problems during quitting smoking process. Blood pressure, pulse and blood oxygen consumption monitoring facilities were also offered at this event. The QCP staff had increased the awareness that pharmacists are the best source to ask about medicines because they are the professionals who are medication management experts. In the beginning, Kanwal Khan delivered welcome note on behalf of the manager and owner of QCP Mr. Safder Rizvi. Many professionals and experts spoke to the public in this event. Senior pharmacist Mr. Victor Naidoo appreciated that these type of programs showed the culture of giving back to the community. CAPP members Mr. Reyaz Ahmed and Mannan Syed, Mr Syed Fasih from UIC, Mr. Latafat Siddiqui and Muhammad Nadeem from journalists forum, Mubeen Pirzada, Syed Abbas Naqvi and Fayyaz Haider also spoke to community members. In his closing speech, Mr. Safder Rizvi had thanked to the guests and attendees who came to the event and made it successful. He specially appreciated Mr. Victor Naidoo, Ms. Juliana , and Mr. Ishrat Rehmani who came all the way from Ottawa to attend the event.The attendees and guests enjoyed the refreshments and tea as well.In last 5 years, Mr. Safder Rizvi had been arranging and sponsored various events in public interest, like Annual Community Appreciation dinners, Super star cricket club sponsorship, and Board games competition arrangements for seniors.Not only Pakistanis, but Indians, Arabs, Guinean and attendees from other communities had shown keen interest this event….as our respected and beloved Prime minister Hon. Mr. Justin Trudeau believed that different communities and diverse cultures are Canada’s strength.
Today’s event has proved that nothing is impossible if the intentions are right and focused. #QCP &#PAM2019
