We respect the SC and judiciary: PM

KAHUTA: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Saturday said that people have never accepted Supreme Court decisions against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing a rally in Kahuta after performing ground-breaking of dualisation, rehabilitation and improvement of Rawalpindi-Kahuta road, the prime minister said that Nawaz Sharif served the nation for last four-and-a-half years and now he was working to take forward his mission of service to the people. He said the party accepted the Supreme Court verdicts against Nawaz Sharif because it respected the judiciary.
Abbasi emphasised that it were the people alone who are to decide their future through ballot. “Whatever decision they take, will have bearing on their future,” he stressed.
The prime minister said the PML-N government believed in serving the masses and not in mere point-scoring. He said the PML-N had done unprecedented development work across the country. He said though three major parties had governments in their provinces, yet the pace of progress and development in Punjab was far ahead. He particularly mentioned the PML-N flagship projects of metro and orange line, saying these projects showed commitment of the government towards the welfare of the masses.
The prime minister said development of Rawalpindi-Kahuta road was vital for the progress of the area. He said there had been no major development in the area in the past and the small cities and towns did not grow as they should have been. He said the linkage of motorways and expressways with those being built on the other side of River Jhelum would bring about economic activity and prosperity for the people of the area.
