SBCA seals school in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) sealed the building of a private school in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal vicinity, citing that the building was illegal, the authority evacuated the building by forcing students out in the street.

According to the reports, the building was built in violation of rules and without the approval of SBCA.

However, the school authorities reported that SBCA had not given any notice prior to this action.

The authority took this action in response to a complaint by a resident of the area who stated the issue of prolonged traffic jam during the school drop-off and pick-up hours.

The school’s staff and students were forced to stay on the adjoining footpath until the authority completed its task. Meanwhile, a student fainted while waiting outside the school.
