Pakistan Women’s Amateur Golf Championship begins Friday

ISLAMABAD: Seventy five women golfers from across the country, including few foreign players, are expected to feature in the third edition of Pakistan Women’s Amateur Golf Championship when it tees off from March 16 (Friday) here at the Islamabad Golf Club (IGC). The Pakistan Golf Federation, in collaboration with the Federal Golf Association, is holding the annual event for which 75 women golfers have registered to participate.

According to the details, women golfers from Karachi Golf Club, DHA Golf & Country Club Karachi, Lahore Gymkhana, Defence Raya Lahore, Lahore Garrison Golf Club, Royal Palm Country Golf Club, Margalla Greens Golf Club, Rawalpindi Golf Club and Wah PAF Golf Clubs of Pakistan will be competing for the coveted title. The IGC will also be welcoming international women golfers to the event which will include Sonya Akther and Liza Akter from Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) and Phatsikarn and Thantita from Thailand. The championship will be held under the patronage of the PGF while main sponsors are Serena, Saphire and L’Oreal. Air Blue are the official Travel Partners. The tournament is open to all women with registered handicaps with their respective clubs.
