Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan vow to enhance defence ties

ISLAMABAD: Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Republic of Kyrgyzstan Major General Rayimberdi Duishenbiev called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday in Rawalpindi.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including military-to-military relations, regional security situation and measures to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation were discussed.
Earlier, on arrival at the GHQ, Maj Gen Duishenbiev laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A contingent of Pakistan Army presented guard of honour to the visiting dignitary. Earlier in the day, Foreign Minister of Iran Javad Zarif called on COAS Bajwa at the GHQ and discussed relations between the two countries. Matters of mutual interest and regional security came under discussion during the meeting.
The visiting dignitary appreciated bilateral security engagements during the recent months and the measures initiated by both sides to improve Pak-Iran border security.
