Nawaz should have been jailed for lying: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif should have been jailed for lying.
Speaking to a press conference at the federal capital, Imran said that the former premier was ousted on Iqama, when in fact, “he should have been jailed for lying”.
The PTI chief accused Nawaz of lying before the apex court on two occasions. “He was caught lying first when he presented Qatari letters, while his second lie was exposed through the calibri font scandal,” said Khan.
Khan said that the PTI would organise a grand rally in Islamabad, the date of which is expected to be announced soon, to protest against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s ‘plans’ to use the parliament against the judiciary.
“They (PMLN) are now heading for a clash of institutions on the basis of having a people’s mandate. I will show them that the public stands with justice, not them,” the PTI chief was quoted as saying
